Carving a better way of life. Shilpa Trust, founded in 1992, is breathing a new life into the age-old craft of Channapatna wood carving. The Trust works with economically marginalised artisans, many of whom have not had access to education. They have been assisting artisans with latest designs and training them to upgrade their skills in accordance with the requirements of the market. Shilpa Trust provides artisans with children's educational assistance, free health check-ups, social security insurance, a loan program, skill training and product development.
